This course will benefit those who want to explore the technical as well as the creative possibilities of B&W photography. Hands-on activities and class discussions will focus on the various methods of producing images such as exposure, conversion and looking at a scene in monochrome. Students learn: -Black & White vs monochromatic photography -Toning -Visualizing in B&W -Texture -Tonal contrast -Shape & Form -Lighting -Subjects: people, landscape, architecture, travel, still life -Zone systems -Metering Prerequisite: - Basic photography and knowledge of camera’s Manual mode Seminar Requirements - DSLR camera or point-and-shoot camera with manual settings Fee: P3,500 inclusive of some gear use, handouts, snacks and certificate.
