Basic Photoshop for Photographers

This workshop will teach you basic Photoshop skills to enhance and take your photos to the next level. The basic workflow will be tackled, starting from downloading your file to manipulating images in Photoshop. The class will be taught using live demonstrations so you can easily learn and follow. Learn how to use the photoshop tools, remove blemishes, how to sharpen your photographs, non-destructive techniques for editing, color correct, how resize your files, and how to put watermarks on your images. How to use Photoshop with portraits, landscapes and black & white photography will be discussed.
-Setting up Photoshop
-Saving workspace profiles
-Set preference defaults
-Use color settings
-Opening RAW and JPEG files
-Non-destructive editing techniques
-Use layers, history, brushes
-Adjustment layers: brightness, contrast, levels, curves, exposure
-Blemish, spot removal, replicating
-Blurring and sharpening
-Dodging and burning
-Resizing and cropping
-Bring laptop with Photoshop CS3 or higher. Demonstration will be with Photoshop CS5.

About the Instructor
Brian Sahagun is a user interface designer for Chikka Philippines, Inc., creating websites and mobile apps for the telecom industry. He started taking photos in 2000 with an old Canon AE-1 film camera, developing and printing black and white film. When he's not doing web apps, he's doing documentary and event photography.
